Electromagnetic lock for entrance doors, 12/24 V DC, 450 mA, holding force up to 280 kg, SecureEntry-ML200

GTIN: 5907614668815 · SKU: SecureEntry-ML200

The SecureEntry-ML200 is an electromagnetic lock (maglock) for a single entrance door. The body with the electromagnet is mounted on the door frame and the armature plate on the door leaf. While the lock is powered, the magnet holds the door with a force of up to 280 kg; when the power is cut, the door opens. The lock works with access control devices powered at 12 V DC or 24 V DC, and with the L, LZ and U brackets it can be mounted on almost any door frame, including frameless glass doors.

Features

  • The electromagnetic lock can be connected to a variety of devices to build a system that controls access to rooms.
  • A magnet with a holding force of up to 280 kg guarantees security.
  • Robust construction for durability.
  • It can be mounted on almost all types of door frames, e.g. for wooden or frameless glass doors.
  • A varistor (MOV) protects the lock against voltage spikes and surges.
  • Anodised aluminium housing.
  • Anti-residual-magnetism design — once the power is cut, the armature plate does not stick to the magnet.

Operating principle

The SecureEntry-ML200 works in fail-safe mode and has no mechanical parts. While the lock is powered, the electromagnet attracts the armature plate mounted on the door leaf and holds the door closed. When the power is cut, the magnetic force disappears and the door can be opened. This makes the lock suitable for doors on exit routes as well.

Power connection

WireFunction
RedPower +
BlackPower −

The power is supplied through the N.C. contact of the control device or an access control relay: when the device grants access, it breaks the circuit, the lock loses power and the door opens.

Optional brackets

Determine the direction in which the door opens and inspect the door frame header to decide whether a bracket is needed. Depending on the frame header and the door opening direction, L, LZ or U brackets may be required.

L-bracket for narrow door frames — used when dimension A (from the door frame to the door leaf) is smaller than 42 mm.

L-bracket: when A is smaller than 42 mm the lock must be installed with an L-bracket; door frame, door leaf, magnet, armature and out-swinging direction marked

LZ-bracket for in-swinging doors

LZ-bracket: mounting the lock on an in-swinging door, with an exploded view of the bracket

U-bracket for frameless glass doors

U-bracket: armature plate on the frameless glass door leaf, lock on the header

Installation

  1. Insert the pin into the armature as shown in the drawings and add the washers on the armature.

Step 1: set pin inserted into the armature plate and washers on the screw
  2. Place the washers between the armature plate and the door leaf. Use the Allen key to remove the mounting plate from the lock body.

Step 2: washers between the armature plate and the door leaf, and removing the mounting plate with the Allen key
  3. Feed the wire through the wire hole, then screw the mounting plate to the door frame. Use the Allen key to screw the lock body onto the mounting plate.

Step 3: wire fed through the hole in the mounting plate, plate screwed to the door frame, lock body screwed on with the Allen key
  4. Close and pull the door to check the holding force. Extra washers can be added between the door leaf and the armature plate to adjust the angle. After checking the holding force, tighten the proof screws.

Step 4: checking the holding force by pulling the door and tightening the proof screws

Frequently asked questions

Can the SecureEntry-ML200 be installed on glass doors?
Yes. The lock suits wooden and frameless glass doors. For frameless glass doors a U-bracket is used.
What power supply does the lock need?
12 V DC or 24 V DC. The operating current is 450 mA and the voltage tolerance is 115%.
Does the lock open when the power fails?
Yes. The SecureEntry-ML200 works in fail-safe mode: it holds the door only while it is powered, and once the power is cut the door can be opened.
What is the magnetic monitoring sensor output for?
The SPDT 1 A 12 V DC output remotely reports the door status: the N.C. output means the door is open and the N.O. output means the door is closed. This lets you connect the door status to an alarm or access control system.
When is a bracket needed?
When the door frame header or the door opening direction does not allow the lock to be mounted directly. The L-bracket is used for narrow frames (dimension A smaller than 42 mm), the LZ-bracket for in-swinging doors and the U-bracket for frameless glass doors.
What holding force does the lock have?
Up to 280 kg.
