Frequently asked questions

How do I configure the HD-S10?
Scan the configuration barcode for the setting you want directly with the scanner. To enter a value such as a custom prefix, scan the option code and then the character codes from the barcode data table.
Does the HD-S10 need drivers?
No. It connects over USB as a standard HID keyboard and is recognised automatically by Windows, macOS and Linux without any drivers.
Which barcodes does the HD-S10 read?
It is a 1D laser scanner and reads all major 1D barcodes, including EAN, UPC, Code 128, Code 39, Code 93, Codabar, Interleaved 2 of 5 and MSI. It does not read 2D codes such as QR.
How does the automatic (presentation) mode work?
Placed on a counter, the HD-S10 detects a barcode brought into its scanning field and reads it automatically — ideal for hands-free point-of-sale use.
