Configuration codes​

To change scanner settings, first scan Enter Setup, then the barcode(s) for the option you want, and finally Exit Setup. For parameters with a numeric value (for example a custom prefix or a custom timeout), scan Enter Setup, the option code, the required digit codes from the appendix, then Save, and finally Exit Setup.

What types of barcodes does the HD-S63 scan?
The HD-S63 reads all major 1D and 2D barcode formats, including QR codes, Data Matrix, PDF417 and standard linear barcodes. It works with codes printed on paper labels as well as codes displayed on LCD, LED/OLED and mobile device screens.
Does the HD-S63 require driver installation?
No. The scanner is plug and play — it is recognised as a standard USB HID keyboard device by the operating system. Simply connect it via USB and it is ready to work without installing any drivers or software.
What does automatic scanning mode mean?
In automatic mode, the HD-S63 continuously monitors the scanning window and triggers a scan as soon as a barcode is detected. There is no need to press a trigger button — the scanner reads codes automatically whenever a code appears in front of the window.
Is the HD-S63 resistant to dust and moisture?
Yes. The HD-S63 has an IP54 protection rating, which means it is protected against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction. This makes it suitable for everyday use in retail and service environments.
How do I enter and exit the HD-S63 configuration mode?
Scan the "Enter Setup" code, then the codes for the settings you want, and finish with "Exit Setup". Scanning any non-programming barcode also leaves configuration mode.
Can I add a custom prefix or suffix (for example an Enter key)?
Yes. Scan "Enter Setup", enable the custom prefix or suffix, scan "Set Custom Prefix/Suffix", then the data / digit codes from the appendix for the characters you want, then "Save", and finally "Exit Setup".
