Cash boxes
A cash box is a lockable, portable metal container for storing or transporting cash, vouchers, keys and small valuables. Unlike a cash drawer it has no electrical interface — it is a standalone, hand-carried unit with a hinged lid, a key lock (and on some models a coded combination lock) and a removable coin tray inside.
Where to use a cash box
- Mobile selling points — market stalls, food trucks, fairs, school events
- End-of-shift transport — moving the day's takings between the till and the safe
- Petty-cash storage in offices and back-rooms
- Temporary lockable storage for vouchers, keys, receipts and other small items

Cash boxes FAQ
What is a cash box used for and where do I typically need one?
A cash box is the simplest way to keep cash secure when you do not need a full POS station: a mobile market stall, a school fundraiser, a charity collection, transporting the day's takings to the safe at end of shift, or storing petty cash in an office drawer. The lid locks with a key (some models add a 3-digit combination lock), and the inside has a removable coin tray plus a banknote compartment underneath.
What if I lose the key to my cash box?
Each cash box ships with two identical keys — keep the spare somewhere safe (not in the box itself). If both keys are lost, the lock can be drilled out by a locksmith; we do not ship replacement keys cut from the lock number because that would defeat the purpose of the lock. Models with a combination lock have a reset procedure documented on the model page — write down the chosen combination during initial setup.
What sizes and security levels do you offer?
HDWR cash boxes come in three footprints: compact (suitable for a single cash float, ~20 cm wide), medium (typical office / shop use, ~25–30 cm) and large (event / multi-float, ~35 cm and above). All models use cold-rolled steel housings with reinforced corners; the bigger models add a thicker lid and a stronger lock. Specific dimensions and the lock class are listed on each model page. For high-value storage choose a [safe](/safes) instead — cash boxes are designed for portability, not vault-grade security.
