Features

  • 24 V solenoid — designed for cash registers and POS printers that drive the open-drawer pulse at 24 V, instead of the more common 6/12 V used by the standard HD-KER35.
  • Durable steel housing — thick cold-rolled SECC steel resists mechanical damage and tampering.
  • Key lock — three-position lock protects the contents against unauthorised access.
  • Flexible compartments — four banknote compartments with snaps and eight coin compartments that can be fully removed or freely rearranged.
  • Payment slot — a wide slot lets you drop in cheques and other means of payment without opening the drawer.
  • Three ways to open — with the key, the emergency lever, or electronically from a fiscal printer / cash register.
  • High durability — rated for up to 1,000,000 open cycles.

Installation

The cash drawer is equipped with a standard 6-pin RJ12 plug for direct connection to any EPSON POS printer or Epson-compatible POS equipment. When the receipt finishes printing, the printer automatically opens the drawer.

The solenoid in this model is rated for 24 V — use it with a cash register or fiscal printer whose drawer-kick output is 24 V. If your device drives the drawer at 6 V or 12 V, choose the standard HD-KER35 instead.

How to open the drawer

The drawer can be opened in three ways:

  1. With the key included in the set.
  2. Emergency opening — using the lever located underneath the device.
  3. Electronically — from the cash register, after the drawer has been connected with the RJ12 cable.
warning

To reduce the risk of damaging or breaking the key, avoid leaving it in the lock during normal operation.

Removing the drawer

Open the drawer and remove the plastic tray for coins and banknotes. Pull the drawer out as far as it will go, tilt the front edge of the drawer upwards, and pull the drawer out at an angle.

Maintenance

The cash drawer slides should be cleaned and lubricated periodically. The frequency depends on usage and environment, but the typical recommended interval is every three months.

  1. Using a dry, lint-free cloth, wipe off old grease and debris from the inner and outer guides. Do not use water or any liquid cleaners.
  2. With a clean applicator, apply a thin layer of lithium-based bearing grease to the inner and outer guides.
  3. Slide the guides back and forth several times to coat the polyurethane rollers properly and distribute the lubricant evenly.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the HD-KER35-24V and the standard HD-KER35?
The two drawers are mechanically identical — same steel housing, compartments, lock and RJ12 connector. The only difference is the solenoid voltage: the HD-KER35-24V has a 24 V coil, while the standard HD-KER35 has a 6/12 V coil. Pick the version that matches the open-drawer voltage your cash register or fiscal printer outputs.
Which cash registers and fiscal printers is the HD-KER35-24V compatible with?
Any device that issues the open-drawer pulse at 24 V over a standard 6-pin RJ12 connector. This is less common than the 6/12 V standard, so check your device's drawer-kick voltage before ordering. If the output is 6 V or 12 V, use the standard HD-KER35; if you are unsure, contact us with the model name and we will confirm compatibility.
How do I open the HD-KER35-24V cash drawer?
The lock has to be in the open position first — when it is locked, the drawer cannot be opened and electronic pulses are ignored. With the lock open there are three methods: manually, by turning the key one more position past 'open' until the latch releases; electronically, when a fiscal printer or cash register issues the 24 V open-drawer pulse over the RJ12 cable; or in an emergency, using the lever underneath the housing.
What should I do if the drawer does not open from the fiscal device?
First confirm the lock is in the open position — when locked, electronic pulses are ignored by design. Then check that the open-drawer command is enabled in the cash register / fiscal printer software (the command name varies by vendor), that the device actually drives the drawer at 24 V, and that the RJ12 cable is firmly seated. If it still does not open, use the key to open it manually and contact support.
Which mounting bracket fits the HD-KER35-24V?
The HD-KER35-24V uses the same dedicated HD-MB35 mounting bracket as the standard HD-KER35, which fixes the drawer securely and space-efficiently under the counter.
