Features
- Heavy-duty steel build — very thick cold-rolled steel and SECC with a textured hybrid powder coating; 11.5 kg of solid construction resists mechanical damage and tampering.
- Ball-bearing slides, 2,000,000 cycles — rated for up to two million open cycles, double the lifetime of the lighter HDWR drawer ranges.
- Longitudinal, slide-out layout — a wide, shallow body (49.5 × 30.5 cm) that fits narrow counters where a standard square drawer does not.
- Large capacity — eight banknote compartments and eight coin compartments.
- Removable insert — the insert and the coin tray lift out, and the single-coin bins are individually removable, so the whole tray can be carried away and emptied.
- 4-function key lock — manual open, electronic (online) open, locked-open and locked-closed.
Connecting the drawer
The cash drawer is fitted with a standard serial (RJ12) plug for direct connection to a POS terminal, a fiscal cash register or a computer. When the receipt finishes printing, the printer or cash register opens the drawer automatically.
Opening the drawer
The key lock has four functions:
- Manual open — turning the key to this position opens the drawer.
- Electronic (online) open — the drawer is opened from the printer or fiscal cash register, once it has been connected.
- Locked open — the drawer cannot be opened without the key.
- Locked closed — the drawer cannot be closed without the key.
To reduce the risk of damaging or breaking the key, avoid leaving it in the lock during normal operation.
Removing the drawer
Open the cash drawer and take out the insert. Pull the drawer out until it stops. Release the locking handles on both sides of the slides with both hands — lift the locking handle on the left side and press down the locking handle on the right side — and at the same time pull the drawer out to remove it.
Maintenance
The cash drawer slides should be cleaned and lubricated periodically. The frequency depends on usage and environment, but the typical recommended interval is every three months.
- Using a dry, lint-free cloth, wipe off old grease and debris from the inner and outer slides. Do not use water or any liquid cleaners.
- With a clean applicator, apply a thin layer of lithium-based bearing grease to the inner and outer slides.
- Cycle the slides back and forth several times to coat the polyurethane rollers properly and distribute the grease evenly.
