Money trays

Money trays (also called cash inserts) are open-top organisers with separate compartments for coins and banknotes. They drop into HDWR cash drawers (HD-KFT and HD-KR series), into the drawer of a desk or counter, or sit loose on a shelf during cash counting.

Where to use a money tray

  • As a replacement insert for an HDWR cash drawer (HD-KFT, HD-KR series)
  • Inside a desk or counter drawer when you do not need an electrified POS drawer
  • For cash counting and end-of-shift sorting away from the till
  • In secondary stations (returns desk, market stall, mobile event)

Money trays FAQ

How is a money tray different from a cash drawer?
A money tray is just the open-top insert: coin compartments at the front, banknote compartments at the back, no housing, no lock, no electronics. A cash drawer is the full unit — steel housing, mechanical key lock, RJ12 interface to a fiscal printer / cash register and a removable money tray inside. Buy a tray when you want a loose insert (for a desk drawer, counter or secondary station); buy a drawer when you need a lockable, electronically-openable POS station.
Can I buy just a money tray as a spare insert for my cash drawer?
Yes. Our money tray range fits both HD-KFT and HD-KR series cash drawers and can also be used loose in a desk drawer, on a counter or in another piece of furniture. Check the inner dimensions of your drawer against the tray's outer dimensions before ordering to confirm it will fit.
What sizes and compartment layouts are available?
Trays come in several footprints to match common drawer sizes, and in layouts with 4–5 banknote slots plus 6–8 coin compartments — enough for one cash float per shift. Specific dimensions and layouts are listed on each model page. If you need a custom configuration for a non-standard drawer, contact us for advice before ordering.
