The SolidHand-CM04 carries four monitors of 17 to 32 inches, up to 8 kg each, in a 2 × 2 grid. Two crossbars sit on a single aluminium post and each crossbar takes two screens, so all four share one point of contact with the desk. The post is fixed either with the clamp or through a hole in the desktop; the crossbars are set at the height you need with an Allen key. Each screen rotates ±180°, tilts ±34° and swings ±17° with its arm.

Before you start​

Allow about an hour. Have ready:

  • A second person — hanging each monitor on a crossbar is a two-person job
  • All three Allen keys (P, Q, R) from the kit; a Phillips screwdriver for the monitor screws
  • For the clamp: a free desk edge with a desktop no thicker than 50 mm
  • For the grommet: a Ø 12 mm hole in a desktop no thicker than 80 mm, at least 43 mm from the edge — plus a drill
  • A check that each monitor weighs no more than 8 kg and has 75 × 75 or 100 × 100 VESA holes
caution

Before you begin, check that you received every part from the list above. If anything is missing or damaged, contact us before assembling the mount. The desk must safely carry the weight of the mount and all four screens together — around 40 kg in a full configuration.

Assembly​

Step 1 — Fix the post to the desk​

The post mounts in one of two ways. Choose one before you start.

Option 1a — desk clamp (desktop 10–50 mm)

  1. Put the post (D) on the clamp bracket (A) and secure it from below with the base screws (N) and washers (M).
  2. Slide the assembly onto the edge of the desk and tighten the clamp screw until its foot presses firmly against the underside of the desktop.
  3. Slide the base cover (L) down the post onto the base.

Option 1b — grommet (desktop 10–80 mm)

  1. Drill a Ø 12 mm hole in the desktop, at least 43 mm from the edge.
  2. Put the post (D) on the grommet plate (B) and secure it with the base screws (N) and washers (M).
  3. Pass the bolt through the hole, fit the washer (C) from underneath and tighten it against the desktop.
  4. Slide the base cover (L) down the post onto the base.

Step 2 — Fit the crossbar brackets to the post​

  1. Slide the two brackets (F) with their inserts (I) onto the post from above.
  2. Set the height of each bracket and lock it with the 4 mm Allen key (P).
  3. Leave more room above the upper bracket than between the two — the upper row of screens needs the space to tilt freely.
tip

Set the lower crossbar so the bottom screens sit just above the desktop and the upper row lands near eye level. The height only changes with an Allen key, so it pays to take a moment over it.

Step 3 — Attach the crossbars​

  1. Hold a crossbar (E) against a bracket and fasten it with the crossbar screws (O), four per bar, using the 5 mm Allen key (Q).
  2. Repeat for the second crossbar on the other bracket.
  3. Press the cap (K) onto the top of the post.

Step 4 — Attach the VESA plates to the monitors​

Lay each monitor face down on a soft, clean surface and match a plate (G) to its VESA holes — 75 × 75 mm or 100 × 100 mm.

Monitor with a flat back

  1. Fasten the plate directly to the monitor with four M4 × 12 (M-A) or M5 × 12 (M-C) screws and the washers (M-E), whichever thread fits.

Monitor with a curved back or recessed holes

  1. Put one spacer (M-F) between the plate and the monitor at each of the four holes.
  2. Fasten the plate with four M4 × 16 (M-B) or M5 × 16 (M-D) screws and the washers (M-E) — they are long enough to reach through the spacers.

Tighten the four screws evenly and do not overtighten them — the thread is in the monitor housing. Repeat for all four monitors.

Step 5 — Hang the monitors on the crossbars​

  1. With the second person holding the monitor, slide the pin of its VESA plate (G) into a joint on the crossbar (E).
  2. Screw the locking knob (H) onto the pin from above and tighten it firmly by hand.
  3. Do not let go of the screen until its knob is tight. Repeat for the remaining three monitors, working on the lower crossbar first.
caution

Never release a screen before its knob (H) is tight — an unsecured monitor can slide off the joint.

Step 6 — Route the cables​

  1. Clip the cable clips (J) onto the crossbars — two per bar.
  2. Lay the monitor power and signal cables in the clips, then run them down along the post to the desk.

Step 7 — Adjust the screens​

  1. Slide each screen along its crossbar to set the spacing, and loosen or tighten the joint with the 5 mm Allen key (Q) to set how firmly it holds.
  2. Set the tilt resistance with the 6 mm Allen key (R): tighten if a screen drops under its own weight, loosen if it is hard to move.
  3. Aim for a setting where each screen holds its position but can still be moved with one hand.

Step 8 — Check the movement ranges​

With all four screens mounted and the joints set, check that each one moves freely and clears its neighbours through the whole range: ±17° of arm swing and ±180° of rotation.

Using the mount​

Once the screens hang on the crossbars and the joints are set, you position them by hand:

  • Reach — up to 857 mm from the post at the widest setting
  • Arm swing — ±17° on each joint, independently for every screen
  • Screen rotation — ±180°, so any screen can be turned to portrait
  • Screen tilt — ±34°
  • Height — set on the post with the 4 mm Allen key (P); both screens on a crossbar move together

Safety instructions​

Failure to read, understand and follow all the instructions may result in serious injury or damage to equipment.

  • Using the mount with a monitor heavier than the permitted 8 kg causes instability and may lead to injury or damage to the screen.
  • Follow the assembly instructions closely. Incorrect installation may cause damage or serious injury.
  • Use proper protective equipment and the right tools. The product should be installed by professionals.
  • Make sure the desk safely carries the combined weight of the mount and all four monitors, and that the desktop is no thicker than 50 mm at the clamp or 80 mm at the grommet.
  • Use the supplied screws and do not overtighten them.
  • The product contains small parts that pose a choking hazard if swallowed. Keep them away from children.
  • The product is intended for indoor use only. Outdoor use may damage it.
  • Check that the clamp and the screws are still tight at least once every three months.

Can I mount monitors of different sizes on one mount?
Yes. Every joint adjusts independently and takes any monitor within 17–32 inches and 8 kg with a 75 × 75 or 100 × 100 VESA pattern, so four different screens can be combined.
Do I have to drill a hole in my desk?
No. The mount comes with both options: the clamp grips a desk edge up to 50 mm thick without drilling, and the grommet version goes through a Ø 12 mm hole in a desktop up to 80 mm thick, at least 43 mm from the edge. Use whichever suits your desk.
How much does the desk have to carry?
The mount itself weighs 8 kg, and four monitors at the maximum 8 kg each add 32 kg, so plan for around 40 kg in total at a single point. Check that your desk and its top are up to it before mounting.
Can I turn a monitor to portrait?
Yes. Each VESA joint rotates its screen ±180°, so a 90° turn puts any of the four monitors upright — useful for reading documents, coding or comparing long pages side by side.
