Wired dual-band 125 kHz and 13.56 MHz USB RFID reader, HD-RD30C

GTIN: 5907614660857 · SKU: HD-RD30C

The HD-RD30C is a compact, wired RFID reader that reads tags in two bands: 125 kHz and 13.56 MHz. It connects to a computer with a USB cable — the system recognises it as an HID keyboard, so no drivers need to be installed. The reader recognises the band of the tag presented to it, reads it from up to 80 mm away and confirms every read with a light and sound signal. It is suited to goods records, time and attendance and access control.

Features

  • Operating frequency: 125 kHz and 13.56 MHz.
  • Automatic tag reading.
  • Read confirmation with a light and sound signal.
  • Powered from the USB port, 5 V DC.

Usage

The device is simple and intuitive to operate, so the reader is convenient for beginners and advanced users alike.

1. Connecting the device

  • Use the included USB cable to connect the reader to a computer or another device with a compatible USB port.
  • The reader is automatically detected as an HID keyboard. No additional drivers need to be installed.

2. Preparing to read

  • Make sure the RFID tag you want to read works on one of the supported frequencies: 125 kHz or 13.56 MHz.
  • Bring the tag to within 80 mm of the reader.

3. Reading

  • The reader reads the data from the tag automatically. A successful read is signalled with light and sound.
  • The data is sent to the connected device immediately and can be used in an application or system, e.g. for goods records or access control.

4. Selecting the reading frequency

  • The reader recognises the frequency of the tag in use and adjusts its operating mode, so it switches smoothly between reading 125 kHz tags (e.g. TK4100) and 13.56 MHz tags (e.g. MIFARE 1K S50-compatible) — nothing needs to be switched.

5. Taking care of the device

  • Store the reader at −20°C to +80°C to ensure a long service life.
  • Avoid humidity above 90%, impacts and contact with water.

Frequently asked questions

What tags does the HD-RD30C read?
125 kHz tags (e.g. EM4100, TK4100, EM4200, EM4305, T5577) and 13.56 MHz tags (e.g. compatible with MIFARE 1K S50, MIFARE S70, MIFARE Plus, MIFARE DESFire, as well as NTAG213/215/216).
Do I need to switch the band before reading?
No. The reader recognises the frequency of the tag presented to it and reads both 125 kHz and 13.56 MHz tags.
Does the HD-RD30C require driver installation?
No. The system recognises the reader as an HID keyboard and installs it automatically once it is plugged into a USB port.
From what distance does the reader read tags?
From 0.5 to 80 mm. The range depends on the type and quality of the tag.
In what format does the reader send the tag number?
As a 10-digit decimal number, typed into the active window as if it were entered on a keyboard.
How does the HD-RD30C differ from the HD-RD30?
The HD-RD30 reads 125 kHz tags only, while the HD-RD30C reads both 125 kHz and 13.56 MHz tags. The housing, dimensions and connection are the same.
