Powering on for the first time
- To open the safe for the first time, slide the mechanical-lock cover to the right (it sits right next to the numeric keypad), then open the door with the mechanical key. Insert the four batteries supplied with the kit.
- Once powered, the screen starts automatically and the LCD lights up red. The message GOOD then appears, meaning the system is in standby mode.
- In standby mode the screen shows the date, time and battery status.
Opening the safe
- Press the # button to wake the safe from standby. When the LCD is lit red and shows the lock symbol, enter your code (1–8 digits) and press # to confirm.
- With the correct code the screen shows OPEN, the LCD turns blue and the lock disengages for about 8 seconds — within that time you can open the door.
- If the code is wrong the screen shows ERROR.
- After three wrong codes in a row the safe sounds an alarm for one minute. To stop it, enter the correct code, press # and turn on the LCD backlight; the system then returns to standby.
- If no code is entered within 10 seconds, the safe leaves input mode and returns to standby.
Programming the PIN code
The safe holds two independent password groups.
First password group
- In standby mode press the Settings button — the LCD turns blue. Enter your eight-digit personal code and press # to confirm.
- The message No 1 In confirms the first password group was changed successfully.
Second password group
- Open the door with the second password group. When the screen shows OPEN, enter a code of 1–8 digits and press # to confirm.
- The message No 2 In confirms the second password group was changed successfully.
tip
Press * to clear the last digit entered. If you do not finish changing the code within 10 seconds, the safe leaves programming mode and keeps the previous code. Choose codes that are not birthdays or sequential digits, and keep a written copy in a separate, secure place.
Setting the date and time
- Press * in standby mode to enter date- and time-setting mode.
- Use the number buttons to enter the year, month, date, day, hour and minutes. The safe saves the new time, leaves setting mode and returns to standby.
- Press * while setting to step back to the previous digit and re-enter it.
Vibration alarm
- Press 0 in standby mode — the screen shows Alert on and the safe enters alarm mode.
- The safe triggers a vibration alarm if it is disturbed.
- Enter a valid code: the screen shows OPEN, the alarm switches off and alarm mode is deactivated.
- Only one correct door opening deactivates an active alarm. The vibration alarm has to be set again each time the door is opened.
Power and low-battery indicator
- The safe is powered by four 1.5 V AA alkaline batteries (included). The display shows LOW BATTERY when the voltage is low — replace the batteries promptly.
- If the battery voltage is too low to open the safe, use an external power source, then open the safe and replace the batteries.
Anchoring and safety
- The safe ships with two mounting screws so it can be fixed to a wall, floor or cabinet. Always anchor the safe — even a heavy safe can be carried away if left loose. Keep it upright during installation.
- The safe is intended for storing money, documents and small valuables. Do not store items that could damage the lock mechanism.
- The product is not waterproof or fireproof. Avoid contact with water, other liquids and excessive moisture.
- If you have trouble opening the safe, do not use force — open it with the mechanical key and contact authorised technical service.
- Change both factory password groups on first use and keep the mechanical keys in a separate, secure place.
Frequently asked questions
How do I open the SecureBox-25 for the first time?
Slide the mechanical-lock cover to the right (next to the keypad), open the door with one of the supplied keys and insert the four AA batteries included in the kit. The LCD lights up red and shows GOOD (standby). Then set your own PIN codes before putting the safe into use.
How do I open the safe with the code?
Press # to wake the safe from standby. When the LCD is red and shows the lock symbol, enter your code (1–8 digits) and press #. The screen shows OPEN, the LCD turns blue and the lock disengages for about 8 seconds — open the door within that time. A wrong code shows ERROR; three wrong codes in a row trigger a one-minute alarm.
How do I set or change the PIN code?
The safe has two password groups. For the first group, press the Settings button in standby (LCD turns blue), enter an eight-digit code and press # — No 1 In confirms it. For the second group, open the door with the second group, and when OPEN shows enter a 1–8 digit code and press # — No 2 In confirms it. Press * to clear the last digit; if you pause for 10 seconds the old code is kept.
What do I do if I forget the code or the batteries are dead?
Use the mechanical key: slide the lock cover to the right and open the door with the key at any time. If the batteries are too low for the keypad, use an external power source to open the safe. After opening, replace all 4 AA batteries and reprogram your codes.
What is the vibration alarm and how do I use it?
Press 0 in standby to arm it — the screen shows Alert on. The safe then sounds a vibration alarm if it is disturbed. Entering a valid code shows OPEN, turns the alarm off and disarms it. The alarm has to be re-armed after every door opening.
Is the SecureBox-25 fireproof or waterproof?
No. The SecureBox-25 is a burglary-resistant steel safe (5 mm walls, 3 bolts) but it is not fire-rated or waterproof. It protects money, documents and valuables against theft and casual access. If you need fire or water protection, ask our sales team for a certified fire safe instead.
