Key description​

The scale has four keys around the display — two on each side:

  • Switch — the power key; switches the scale on and off
  • M — selects the weighing unit; in counting mode it selects the sample quantity, and together with the power key it opens calibration
  • PCS — piece-counting key; starts sampling and confirms the sample
  • T — tares the scale, clears the reading and returns the display to 0.00 / 0.0

Using the scale​

Switching on and off​

Hold down the Switch key. The display shows HELLO and then returns to the zero position 0.00 or 0.0. The scale is now ready for use.

Hold down Switch again to switch the scale off.

Automatic power-off​

The scale switches itself off after a set period of inactivity, and you can choose how long that is:

  1. With the scale switched on, press and hold T — the display shows 60, meaning 60 seconds.
  2. Press M to step through the remaining settings: 120, 180 and 0 seconds.
  3. Press Switch to confirm. The display shows PASS and the setting is saved.

The 0 setting turns automatic power-off off completely — the scale then has to be switched off by hand.

Changing the weighing unit​

Press M to switch the weighing unit. Keep pressing the key until the symbol of the unit you want appears at the top of the display: grams (g), pounds (lb) or ounces (oz).

Taring​

To weigh goods without counting the container:

  1. Place the tray or container on the weighing platform.
  2. Press T.
  3. The display shows 0.00 or 0.0 — the container weight has been subtracted.

Add the goods to the container; the display now shows their net weight.

Piece counting (PCS)​

The scale counts identical small parts by weight, so all the counted pieces must weigh the same.

  1. Press and hold PCS, then press M to choose the sample quantity: 25, 50, 60, 75 or 100 pieces.
  2. Place exactly that number of pieces on the platform.
  3. Press PCS briefly, then press PCS again to end sampling and start counting.

From now on you can place any quantity of the same parts on the platform and the display shows how many pieces there are. Short presses of M and PCS switch between weighing and counting, so you can read both the weight and the quantity.

Calibration​

Calibrate the scale with a calibration weight if the readings start to drift, or whenever the display shows OUT2 after switching on. Use a calibration weight of the highest value the scale offers — the higher the weight, the more accurate the result.

  1. Switch the scale off.
  2. Press and hold Switch and M at the same time — the display shows the set of available calibration weight values.
  3. Press M to select the highest weight value.
  4. Press Switch to confirm and place the selected calibration weight on the platform.
  5. The display confirms that calibration is complete.

Display messages​

  • HELLO — start-up message shown after switching the scale on.
  • 0.00 / 0.0 — the scale is zeroed and ready to weigh.
  • PASS — the setting has been saved.
  • LO — the batteries are running out; replace both AAA cells.
  • o-ld — overload. Remove the load from the platform immediately, otherwise the sensor will be crushed.
  • OUT2 — the scale needs calibrating again.

Safety and care​

The most common causes of inaccurate weighing and of failures are a low battery, incorrect calibration, weighing items beyond the maximum capacity of the scale, and using it on a surface that is not level.

  • Never load the scale with more than its maximum capacity of 500 g — an overload can permanently damage the sensor.
  • Use the scale only on a stable, level, vibration-free surface.
  • Place all weighed items gently on the platform.
  • Replace the batteries as soon as LO appears; weighing on flat batteries gives inaccurate readings.
  • Store the scale in a clean environment. Dust, dirt, moisture, vibration, air currents and the proximity of other electronic devices can adversely affect its reliability and accuracy.
  • Although the scale is built to be durable, avoid rough handling — do not shake, drop or knock it.

The display shows LO or o-ld — what does that mean?
LO means the batteries are running out and both AAA cells should be replaced. o-ld means the load exceeds the 500 g capacity — take it off the platform immediately, otherwise the sensor will be damaged.
