Kit contents

  • wagPRO-K5 scale
  • 2 × AAA battery
  • User manual

Key description

The scale has two keys, one on each side of the display:

  • Z/T ON/OFF — switches the scale on and off, and zeroes or tares the reading
  • UNIT — changes the weighing unit

The maximum load and the division value are printed on the weighing platform next to the display: MAX:5000g d=1g.

Using the scale

Before first use

The batteries are fitted at the factory. Pull out the insulating strip from the battery compartment on the underside of the scale before you switch it on for the first time. Replace both AAA cells as soon as the low-battery indicator appears.

Switching on and off

  1. Put the scale on a hard, flat surface with nothing on the weighing platform.
  2. Press Z/T ON/OFF to switch it on.
  3. Wait until the display shows zero — do not put anything on the platform and do not start weighing before it does.

Press Z/T ON/OFF again to switch the scale off.

Zeroing and taring

To weigh food without the weight of the bowl:

  1. Place the empty bowl or container on the weighing platform.
  2. Press Z/T ON/OFF.
  3. The display returns to zero — the weight of the container has been subtracted.

Add the ingredients to the container; the display now shows their net weight.

Changing the weighing unit

Press UNIT to switch the weighing unit. The scale converts between metric and imperial units, so you can read the same measurement in grams (g), pounds (lb), ounces (oz) or millilitres (ml).

Overload

If the overload message appears while weighing, the load exceeds the 5 kg capacity of the scale. Take the item off the platform immediately, otherwise the housing and the sensor can be damaged.

Batteries

The scale is designed for very low power consumption. When the low-voltage indicator appears in the top left corner of the display, replace the batteries straight away — weighing on flat batteries gives inaccurate readings.

Safety and care

  • Never immerse the scale in water and never clean it with aggressive chemicals.
  • Wipe the housing immediately if it gets soiled with oil, vinegar, spices or any other aggressive substance.
  • Always weigh on a hard, flat surface. Do not use the scale on a carpet or on any soft material.
  • Never load the scale beyond its 5 kg capacity — an overload can permanently damage the sensor.
  • Place the items to be weighed gently on the platform.

Frequently asked questions

What units does the wagPRO-K5 support?
Grams (g), pounds (lb), ounces (oz) and millilitres (ml). Press the UNIT key to switch between them — the symbol of the selected unit appears next to the reading.
How accurate is the wagPRO-K5 and how much can it weigh?
The scale weighs up to 5 kg with a division value of 1 g. The maximum load and the division value are printed on the weighing platform as MAX:5000g d=1g.
How do I weigh ingredients without the weight of the bowl?
Put the empty bowl on the platform and press Z/T ON/OFF. The display returns to zero, so when you add the ingredients it shows their net weight only.
The scale does not switch on out of the box — what is wrong?
The batteries are fitted at the factory with an insulating strip. Open the battery compartment on the underside and pull the strip out; the scale then switches on normally with the Z/T ON/OFF key.
What does the overload message mean?
The load on the platform is heavier than the 5 kg capacity. Remove it immediately — leaving it on can damage the housing and the weighing sensor.
How do I know when to replace the batteries?
A low-voltage indicator appears in the top left corner of the display. Replace both AAA cells straight away, because weighing on flat batteries gives inaccurate readings.
How do I clean the wagPRO-K5?
Wipe it with a damp cloth. Never immerse the scale in water and never use aggressive chemicals. Clean off oil, vinegar or spices as soon as they land on the housing.
