Using the scale

The wagPRO-K800G has four buttons: ON/OFF, TARE, HOLD and MODE. Always rest the spoon level on a flat surface (or hold it horizontally) when switching it on, zeroing or reading the weight — tilting the spoon reduces accuracy.

Turning on and off

Hold the spoon level and press ON/OFF. After the self-test the display shows 0.0g (or 0.00oz) and the scale is ready to weigh. To switch off, press and hold ON/OFF. If the scale is left idle with no significant change in load, it goes to sleep / powers off automatically to save the battery.

Tare (net weighing)

Place an empty container or bag in the spoon, then press TARE — the display returns to zero so the next reading shows only the weight of the ingredient you add. With nothing in the spoon, pressing TARE simply re-zeroes the display (zero correction) before you start weighing.

Hold (screen pause)

When the reading is stable, press HOLD to freeze the displayed value on screen, so you can read it after taking the spoon out of view.

Switching the weighing unit

Press MODE to cycle the weighing unit between g (grams), oz (ounces), gn (grains) and ct (carats).

tip

For everyday cooking use grams (g) or ounces (oz). The grain (gn) and carat (ct) units are handy for very small quantities such as spices, baking additives or other fine ingredients.

Safety and care

  • Do not use the scale in hot, humid or dusty conditions.
  • Keep the spoon horizontal when you read the display, switch it on or tare it — excessive tilting affects accuracy.
  • When a battery icon appears on the display, the battery is low — replace the CR2032 cell.
  • Clean the scale with a soft cloth lightly dampened with water or a mild detergent. Never use organic solvents or alkaline liquids.
  • Keep water and other liquids out of the scale — liquid ingress can cause a short circuit.
  • Remove the battery if the scale will not be used for a long time.

Frequently asked questions

How do I turn the wagPRO-K800G on and zero it?
Rest the spoon level on a flat surface and press ON/OFF. After the self-test the display shows 0.0g and the scale is ready. If it does not read zero, press TARE with the spoon empty to re-zero it before weighing.
Which weighing units does it support and how do I change them?
The wagPRO-K800G shows g (grams), oz (ounces), gn (grains) and ct (carats). Press the MODE button to cycle through them. Grams or ounces suit everyday cooking; grains and carats are useful for very small quantities.
How do I weigh an ingredient inside a container?
Put the empty container or bag in the spoon and press TARE — the display returns to zero. Add the ingredient and the scale shows its net weight only, without the container.
What does the HOLD button do?
HOLD freezes the current reading on the display once it is stable, so you can read the value after moving the spoon. Switch units with MODE and freeze the result with HOLD as needed.
What battery does it use and how long does it last?
It runs on a single CR2032 lithium coin cell (250 mAh), included in the box. When a battery icon appears, replace the cell. The scale also powers off automatically when idle to save the battery, and you should remove the cell if you will not use the scale for a long time.
The reading seems off — what should I check?
Always weigh with the spoon held horizontally; tilting reduces accuracy. Make sure the scale was zeroed (0.0g) before adding the ingredient, do not exceed the 800 g maximum load, and avoid using the scale in hot, humid or dusty conditions.
