Assembly and installation
Take the scale out of the packaging and remove the protective film. Fasten the column to the platform with the supplied screws and raise the control head — it tilts on its bracket, so you can set a comfortable reading angle. When the scale has to be stored or transported, the column folds down flat against the platform.
Stand the scale on a hard, level floor in a dry room. The platform must rest evenly on the ground: an uneven or springy surface makes the reading drift. Four wheels and the handle let you roll the scale between workstations instead of carrying it.
Control panel
The control head carries three green-backlit LCD windows and a keypad:
- Weight window — the mass on the platform
- Unit price window — the price per kilogram you enter
- Total price window — the amount calculated for the load
- Numeric keypad with a decimal point — entering the unit price
- Function keys — zeroing and tare, totalling, price memory and the backlight
Using the scale
Weighing and tare
Switch the scale on with nothing on the platform and wait until the weight window settles at zero. Put the load in the middle of the platform — the ribbed steel plate keeps boxes and crates from sliding — and read the mass.
To weigh goods without the mass of a pallet, crate or container, put the empty container on the platform first and use the tare function. The weight window returns to zero and everything you load afterwards is shown as net weight; clearing the tare brings the gross reading back.
Unit price and totalling
Enter the price per kilogram on the numeric keypad. The unit price window shows what you typed and the total price window shows the amount for the load currently on the platform. Amounts of consecutive items can be added into one sum, and a price you use every day can be kept in the price memory so that it does not have to be typed again.
Backlight
All three displays are backlit in green. To save the battery the backlight goes out after about 10 seconds without activity and comes back as soon as the scale is used again; after a longer idle period the scale switches itself off.
Battery and charging
The scale runs from the mains adapter or from the built-in 4 Ah lead-acid battery — up to 2 days of weighing, or about a week in standby. Charge the battery fully before the first use and recharge it regularly; you can keep weighing while it charges.
Never use the scale with a damaged battery or power cable. If you notice damage, stop using the scale and contact service.
Overload and protecting the scale
Never exceed the rated capacity of 1000 kg. Overloading damages the load cells and the mechanics, gives wrong readings and puts the operator at risk. Do not drop loads onto the platform and avoid sudden movements when loading and unloading.
The scale is a precision instrument: keep it away from shocks, damp and high temperatures. Set it up away from equipment that produces strong electromagnetic interference, which can disturb the reading, and check regularly that nothing is left standing on the platform between weighings.
Maintenance and storage
Wipe dust and dirt off the scale with a soft, dry cloth; aggressive cleaning agents damage the surface. Check the battery and its cables regularly for signs of wear.
If the scale will not be used for a longer time, switch it off to save the battery, fold the column down and keep it in a dry, cool place away from moisture and heat sources, so that neither the battery nor the electronics are damaged.
Safety
- Use the scale indoors only, in dry rooms — keep it away from water, damp and extreme temperatures.
- Never exceed the rated load of 1000 kg; overloading damages the scale and can cause accidents.
- Do not use the scale with a damaged battery or power cable — stop work and contact service.
- Set the scale on an even, stable floor; an uneven surface makes the reading unstable.
- Avoid shocks and sudden movements when loading and unloading the platform.
- Keep the scale away from equipment producing strong electromagnetic interference.
- Switch the scale off and store it dry when it will not be used for a longer time.
