Control panel​

Display windows​

The scale has three display windows with status indicators:

  • WEIGHT (kg) — the weight on the platform. The TARE and ZERO indicators sit along the left edge of this window.
  • UNIT PRICE — the unit price you enter.
  • TOTAL PRICE — the amount to pay. The AC indicator beside it lights up while the scale runs from the mains.

The rating plate on the front carries the metrological data: Max 40 kg, Min 200 g, e = d = 2 g.

Keys​

  • [0]–[9] — enter the unit price. Pressing any numeric key clears the previous unit price after 3 seconds and enters the digit you pressed.
  • [.] — decimal point: enter the whole part before pressing it and the decimal part after.
  • ZERO — zeroes the display when the platform is empty.
  • TARE — subtracts the weight of the container standing on the platform.
  • C — clears the entered unit price and the accumulated totals.
  • ADD — adds the current weight and amount to the running total.
  • STORE — saves a unit price into one of the memory slots.
  • M1–M7 — seven memory slots for frequently used unit prices.
  • Key with the bulb symbol — turns the display backlight on and off.

Before you start​

  • Place the scale on a stable, flat surface.
  • Adjust the four feet underneath so that the scale stands level — check the bubble level and correct it if the bubble is not in the middle.
  • After switching the power on, let the scale warm up for about 10 minutes for the best results.
  • Do not leave the scale in the tare state for a long time. If you do, the automatic zeroing function becomes unavailable and the zero point drifts.

Using the scale​

Switching on​

Switch the scale on with the button on the housing. The displays count through a sequence of numbers until the scale reaches the zero point and the ZERO indicator lights up.

Zeroing (ZERO)​

If the platform is empty but the Weight window does not read zero, press ZERO — the reading returns to zero and the ZERO indicator lights up. Do this before you start weighing.

Tare (TARE)​

To weigh goods without counting the container:

  1. Put the container on the platform and wait until the reading is stable.
  2. Press TARE — the container's weight is deducted and the TARE indicator stays lit.
  3. Add the goods to the container; the Weight window now shows their net weight.

Taking the container off then makes the Weight window show negative values. Press TARE again to clear the tare. The tare range is at most 1/3 of the nominal load.

Weighing and entering a price​

Make sure the scale is at zero and the ZERO indicator is lit, then place the goods on the platform — the WEIGHT window shows their weight.

Enter the unit price of the goods with the numeric keys; use [.] for the decimal part. The price appears in the UNIT PRICE window and the scale computes the amount into the TOTAL PRICE window from the current weight. To cancel the entered unit price, press C.

Overload warning​

Do not put a load heavier than the maximum capacity on the platform. When the scale sounds the alarm, remove the goods immediately to avoid damaging the load cell.

Price memory (STORE, M1–M7)​

Frequently used unit prices can be kept under the seven memory keys, so you do not have to key them in again for every customer.

Saving a price:

  1. Press STORE.
  2. Key in the unit price with the numeric keys.
  3. Press the memory key M1–M7 under which the price should be kept.

Whatever was stored under that key before is replaced by the new value.

Using a stored price: with the weight reading stable, press the memory key M1–M7. The price appears in the UNIT PRICE window and the TOTAL PRICE is recalculated straight away.

Totalling several items (ADD)​

The scale can add up a customer's purchases — up to 99 items.

Before you start totalling, make sure the platform is empty, the accumulated value is cleared and the reading is stable. Then:

  1. Place the first item on the platform and wait until the weight reading is stable.
  2. Enter its unit price with the numeric keys, or recall it with a memory key — the UNIT PRICE and TOTAL PRICE windows show the price and the amount.
  3. Press ADD. The scale stores both the weight and the amount, and the price window shows Add 1.
  4. Remove the item, place the next one, wait for a stable reading, enter its unit price and press ADD again — the price window flashes Add 2, and the Weight and Total price windows show the accumulated weight and the accumulated amount.
  5. Repeat for the remaining items. Press C at any time to clear the accumulated value.

Backlight​

Press the key with the bulb symbol to turn the green display backlight off or on. The backlight comes on automatically at start-up and dims by itself after 10 seconds of inactivity.

The LCD needs strong ambient light to be readable. In dim surroundings, switch the backlight on.

Battery and charging​

The scale runs from the mains through the AC adapter or from the built-in 4 Ah lead-acid battery.

  • When the low-battery indicator comes on, connect the AC adapter and charge the battery.
  • As a rule of thumb, charge for about 1.2 hours for every hour the scale has run on the battery.
  • If the scale has not been used for a longer time, charge it continuously for at least 24 hours — otherwise the battery will be damaged.
  • Switch the scale off before you start charging.
  • If the scale is out of use, recharge the battery at least once every 2 months and keep the power switch off, so the battery does not discharge deeply and fail.
  • Never connect the battery with reversed polarity — the scale's plus must go to the battery's plus and the minus to the minus.

Transport and storage​

  • Avoid shocks and moisture during transport.
  • Avoid strong sunlight and contact with water during storage.

Safety and care​

  • Read the manual carefully before using the scale.
  • Avoid knocks when placing the weighed item on the platform.
  • Protect the scale from heavy rain, flooding, direct sunlight and temperatures above 50 °C — it is not waterproof.
  • Protect it from constant humidity; do not install it near a humidifier.
  • Do not install the scale near a strong magnetic field — it can damage its delicate parts.
  • Never use strong chemical solvents to clean the surfaces.
  • Clean the scale with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Washing it with water is forbidden and can damage the device.
  • Do not open the scale yourself or let an unauthorised technician do it — this can damage it permanently. Contact your dealer or service point for repairs.

What is the STORE key for?
STORE writes a unit price into one of the seven memory slots. Press STORE, key in the price with the numeric keys, then press the memory key M1–M7 where it should be kept — the value previously held under that key is replaced. To use the price later, wait for a stable weight reading and press that memory key; it loads into the UNIT PRICE window and the total is recalculated straight away.
How do I add up several different items for one customer?
Start with an empty platform, a cleared total and a stable reading. Place the first item, enter its unit price and press ADD — the price window shows Add 1. Remove it, weigh the next item, enter its price and press ADD again. You can carry on for up to 99 items; press C to clear the accumulated value.
Why is my zero point drifting?
Do not leave the scale in the tare state for a long time — the automatic zeroing function then becomes unavailable and the zero point drifts. Clear the tare with the TARE key after weighing, press ZERO on an empty platform, keep the scale level on its four adjustable feet, and let it warm up for about 10 minutes after switching on.
